These tests may be purchased in cassette, mid-stream or dip formats for your convenience.

Our Solutions:

Our women’s health products provide timely diagnostic and prognostic information to assist healthcare professionals in delivering optimized treatment. These products are designed for use in many settings including hospitals, fertility centres, urgent care clinics, medical clinics and more. Our portfolio of products includes tests for:

Pregnancy hCG Screening:

Pregnancy tests are based on the detection of elevated levels of human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) in serum or urine, which is produced by the developing placenta following implantation. The appearance and rapid rise in the level of hCG make it an excellent marker for pregnancy.

Our rapid & simple pregnancy tests detect elevated levels of hCG within serum and urine specimens. Our tests offer a simple procedure, providing accurate results in just minutes. Pregnancy hCG levels are typically detected at a cut off of 25 mIU/mL, however, lower cut off levels are available.

Our tests are designed for the rapid qualitative detection of human Chorionic Gonadotrophin (hCG) in urine or serum.

Ovulation Tests:

Ovulation Test

Human luteinizing hormone (LH) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the anterior pituitary. The surge in LH has been shown to precede ovulation by approximately 24-36 hours. Detection of the LH surge can aid in predicting an ovulation window.

Our tests are designed for the rapid qualitative detection of luteinizing hormone (LH) in urine.

Actim Prom:

Actim Prom

Premature rupture of the amniotic membranes (prom) affects 5 to 10% of pregnancies and is associated with serious complications, including premature delivery and neonatal sepsis. Rapid and accurate diagnosis is essential to allow appropriate obstetric intervention. Conversely, a false diagnosis of prom may result in unnecessary intervention including hospitalization and induction of labour. The leakage of amniotic fluid associated with prom cannot always be diagnosed definitively by clinical physical examination alone. Leakage of amniotic fluid tends to elevate the pH of the vagina, and testing for elevated pH has long been used when prom is suspected. While pH tests are fast and sensitive, they are limited by marginal specificity. A new generation of tests based on the detection of specific molecules such as DAO, fibronectin, PAMG-1, or IGFBP-1 found at relatively high concentrations in amniotic fluid, now provide a means of confirming the clinical and pH diagnosis of prom.

The Actim® PROM test is an accurate aid in the diagnosis of suspected Premature Rupture of Membranes. It is a rapid immunoassay that specifically detects Insulin-like Growth Factor Binding Protein -1 (IGFBP-1). IGFBP-1 accumulates at high concentrations in amniotic fluid. When the membranes are ruptured, IGFBP-1 is detectable in a vaginal swab sample. Following a simple procedure, a vaginal swab sample is extracted into a buffer. The immunoassay develops and can be read in 5 minutes.

Actim Partus:

Actim Partus

This product is a simple, one-step dipstick test designed to detect the presence of phosphorylated IGFBP-1 in cervical secretions in order to observe the risk of preterm or imminent delivery when fetal membranes are intact.

A negative result is a safe indication that imminent delivery is highly unlikely.
